South Korean footballer Kim Min-Jae is not a new face in the transfer market. In the previous windows, rumours that multiple clubs in European leagues were interested in signing him were circulating. However, no announcements were made, and he stayed with Beijing Guoan in the Chinese super league for another year. His contract with the Chinese club is expiring at the end of this year. The player is eager to move to a big league.
While Kim was in the Olympic team that had to withdraw him due to a rejection to let him play for the Olympics from his club, speculations about his move to Europe started to re-emerge.
In an interview with a Korean media during the national team duty, he confirmed that he was in talks with Tottenham last winter. He said the failure to move to the North London club gave him a difficult time coping with, resulting in losing his weight. Apparently, his national team captain Son Heung-Min who plays for Spurs strongly recommended Kim to the club.
Now, another transfer window that he can take a big step is on. Spurs seem to eye on more known players in European leagues, so not much chance for him to move to London…
